Allow the editing of UAConnect email display names (so they can show up as Firstname Lastname)

It's really frustrating that when people see emails to/from me, my name shows up (in the to or from field) as "Lastname, Firstname - (email)." People CONSTANTLY address me by my last name. If I could edit the display name so that my name showed up as "Firstname Lastname," people wouldn't call me by my last name! This might be a problem for people who go by nicknames or their middle name, too. There's an option in Outlook to change the display name, but at the UA, users aren't able to modify it. UITS won't do it for a user, either. I don't know if it's because of how names are pulled in from the directory to UAConnect...but it's a real pain to constantly be called the wrong name (Submitted March 2014)

Notes

We have determined that the lastname/firstname display was a  UAConnect design choice and cannot be modified without significant effort. You may, however, add a preferred name that shows in parentheses after lastname/firstname, e.g. Smith, Jane (Jane Smith).

Thanks to Bart Rossmann for writing on 3/25/14:  "There is a preferred name attribute that can be utilized that will update your entry on the Phonebook and UAConnect: http://syscon.arizona.edu/news/2013/01/27 ."  This option is currently available thorugh Manager Self Service and should be available through Employee Self Service shortly.

Changing your entry in the UA Phonebook doesn't change the way your name is displayed in email. UITS doesn't allow editing of the display name in Outlook because of how the directory lookup an other systems work.

Your UA name and email address can ONLY show up as "Lastname, Firstname - (email)."

This still isn't available in employee self service. I would really prefer not to have my middle name in there, as well.
